I personally believe this is the right call by the President, and I truly believe that what happened was... Mr. Obama got into office and realized that there's a LOT of stuff he just plain didn't know, and now that he knows it, he has to continue the policies of Bush which were based on facts that we don't know.

It's easy to throw rocks at someone's decisions when you don't know all the facts, and that's what Obama did during his campaign... he disagreed with Bush's policies because it was politically expedient, not because it was correct.

That last link is priceless. He has 23 followers and he's somehow at the heart of this "vast right wing conspiracy."

Child, please. MSNBC needs to grow up.

If they get this done, there will be no undoing it, not matter how retarded it is. The things that are murky or undefined in the bill will end up decided in the courts. Is that really what we want?

You'd think Obama would have taken a cue from Bill and Hillary and realized that he can't spend his political capital on this pandora's box. The problem is that almost 90% of Americans say in polls that they are HAPPY with their current health insurance.

Those 90% certainly don't want to pay more taxes to cover people who are mostly uninsured by choice, and those who aren't could easily be stuck into Medicare... which is already in place.

Duh.

However, none of us should be surprised by all of this. Obama is doing exactly what he promised he would do during his campaign. We just didn't listen closely enough during the campaign because we were to busy hoping for change and feeling tingly.

The last 8 years of "Republicans" was enough to make me doubt, too. The problems started when the parties began trying to be more like each other. The choice became less clear, and everyone looked like a compromising weenie.

I for one don't want a bunch of compromising weenies running the country.

I don't know what to say about my alleged "Reagan" conservatism ... just yet.

For a couple years now I've positioned myself as a conservative Democrat. And now I find myself moving closer to the right than I ever was before. Reading story after story about what Democrats are pushing for in Congress baffles me sometimes, other times it scares the hell of out me. That's not to inversely say the Republicans have it right on everything or even half for that matter. I'm very skeptical of both parties because of the daily partisan battles I see and hear.

Right now I'm taking a step back and really looking at both parties in a much broader way.
